Decolourising edible and non-edible oils

Process comprises (a) dissolving the lipid and lipoid in solvent and dispersing the selected earths in the soln. in a sealed reactor; (b) filtering the decolorised soln; (c) recovering the solvent for further use in (a); (d) neutralising and deodorising the treated oil; and (e) recovering the pigments from the earths by means of acetone or similar solvent.
