<p>PURPOSE:To make stable assessment without variance by sampling test pieces each having a prescribed size from an intermediate product and accepting the product when the ratio of the actually measured weight with respect to a calculated weight is above the prescribed value. CONSTITUTION:A casting material and rolling material 1 having a height H and width W are used as the material to be inspected. A cubic body X having the prescribed size is sampled from the central part of said material, i.e., the part of 1/2H. The cubic body Y of the same size as the above-mentioned size is sampled from the part of 1/4 and the cubic body Z of the same size as the above-mentioned size is sampled from the surface layer part. The cubic bodies X, Y, Z are subjected to precision machining to manufacture the test pieces X, Y, Z each having the prescribed size. The calculated weight to be determined from the size of each test piece is determined and the weight measurement by the actual measurement is carried out. The calculated weight is determined by using a basic specific gravity chart for each material and the actually measured weight is determined by using a balance having accuracy. Indication is executed from the ratio between the calculated weight and the actually measured weight. The material is accepted and is transferred to the succeeding stage as the accepted product when said value is larger than the prescribed value.</p> |
