PURPOSE:To obtain an output of waveform produced by superposing an AC on a DC in a compact configuration by intermittently controlling the primary side to vary the secondary side of a step-up transformer in accordance with the prescribed frequency, and controlling the secondary side with the prescribed current or voltage. CONSTITUTION:In a power source for supplying a high voltage output to a load 18 connected with the secondary side by intermittently controlling the primary side current by connecting a switching element 18 with the primary side of a step-up transformer 14, the element 18 is intermittently controlled to vary the high voltage output in accordance with the prescribed frequency, and the high voltage output is controlled with constant current or voltage. To this end, a current/voltage detector 29 is provided in the secondary side circuit, and a constant current/constant voltage control loop is formed by an error amplifier 25. Further, an AC oscillator 26 for generating the prescribed frequency is provided in the loop to produce a signal 32 produced by superposing an AC on a DC, and it is used as a control input signal to a pulse width modulator PWM27. |
