PURPOSE:To enable a meter unit to be tilted smoothly and accurately by allowing a connecting member which connects a steering with the meter unit, to be moved up and down in guiding along guide holes when the steering is tilted. CONSTITUTION:A steering shaft 6 is supported by a support frame 10, the end of which is fixed on a front pillar 12 and others, through a mounting mem ber 11 enabling the steering shaft 6 to be tilted up and down by a tilt operation mechanism 13 fixed on the mounting member 11. And a meter unit 3 is installed on the shaft 6 as an integral unit through a connecting member 16. The connecting member 16 is configurated in such a way that a bolt 19 arranged with a vulnerable section 21 is screwed in brackets 17 while the brackets 17, which are projected from the right and left ends of the lower surface of the meter unit 3, are brought face to face with bosses 18a which are arranged at the both sides of a bracket 18 attached to the mounting member 11. And the brackets 17 are allowed to move in being guided along guide holes 20 on the support frame 10.
