A device for an internal-combustion engine, in particular an injection point adjuster is proposed, in which an adjusting shaft (6) with two helically toothed gears (7, 8), preferably with helix angle of the same size but opposed, is provided parallel to a primary part (1) and a secondary part (3). The one gear (7) meshes with a gear (2) of the primary part (1) and the other gear (8) meshes with a gear (4) of the secondary part (3). If the primary part (1) is driven, this ultimately drives the gear (4) of the secondary part (3) by way of the gear (2) and the adjusting shaft (6) with the gears (7) and (8). Due to the opposed helical toothing with helix angle of the same size but opposed, the adjusting shaft (6) remains outwardly free of axial forces. An adjustment, for example, of the injection point is achieved by way of a displacement of the adjusting shaft (6), as a result of which the rotation angle position of the secondary part (3) in relation to the primary part (1) is adjusted by way of the helical toothing.
