A twin-wire former which eliminates difficulties in regard to yields of fine starting materials and bonding strength in the direction of thickness of the paper without deteriorating the texture, yet maintaining high-speed operation. A belt (35) which does not permit permeation of water runs over a portion along the inside of a loop of a top wire (34). In this portion, the hydration is effected only on one side of a bottom wire (33). In this portion, furthermore, positions of a plurality of rolls (3), (17), (23) or shoes (14), (18) are adjusted to change the embracing angle relative to the wires (33), (34), to thereby improve the texture. Then, the dehydration is also effected toward the side on which the dehydration had been restrained by the belt (35). |
