A motor-vehicle diaphragm spring clutch release ball-bearing 14 is carried by a non-rotary member 15 supported in a clutch housing 10 by tangentially arranged flexible straps 20 of rubber or, as shown, spring steel, the straps 20 being secured at their outer and inner ends respectively to the casing 10 and radial arms 18 of an intermediate ring 17 soldered on the member 15. The arms 18 are rounded off at their ends (Fig. 4, not shown) and similarly rounded edge washers 23 at the strap outer ends prevent indentation of the straps during service. The member 15 is axially stepped in diameter for engagement by the usual throw-out fork 16. |
