PURPOSE:To protect the starter by a method wherein a rotation control means is connected to both ends between predetermined section of a battery cable and the rotation of a starting motor is controlled in accordance with a voltage drop based on the starting electric current between said predetermined section, which is detected by the rotation control means. CONSTITUTION:When a start switch 18 is put ON, the starting motor 2 is driven and the voltage drop Vd due to a starting current is generated in both terminals of the battery cable 12 between the plus side terminal B of the battery 10 in a driving circuit and one terminal C of a relay contact 14A. Then the voltage drop Vd is detected by a voltage detecting circuit 22 and the digital signal thereof is outputted to a main control circuit 26. Then, the voltage drop Vd is decided whether it is in a predetermined range or not and when it is YES, the operation of said motor 2 is continued in case said condition is existing during a predetermined time (about 20sec) from an initial setting for more than 15sec and is in a resting condition continuously for about 5sec. On the other hand, in case it is not in said condition, the operation of the motor 2 is stopped. |
