<p>PURPOSE:To increase the flow rate by elevating the temp. of gas to be introduced into a waste heat boiler irrespective of changes in operation conditions, by allowing air together with fine coke powder collected by a secondary dust collector to bow into red hot coke under the lower coke level of a prechamber. CONSTITUTION:Red hot coke discharged from a coke oven is introduced through the top inlet 1 of a prechamber 2 thereinto, and inert gas from the lower part 3 of a cooling chamber 5 is introduced into the prechamber to cool coke. The gas heated by cooling coke is fed through a flue 8 to a primary dust collector 10 to remove coarse coke powder. The gas is then fed through a waste heat boiler 10 to a secondary dust collector 11 where fine coke powder entrained in the gas is removed. In the dry quenching method of coke comprising allowing the recycled gas to blow into the lower part of the cooling chamber 5 by a blower 12, said fine coke powder collected by the dust collector 11 together with air is allowed to blow into red hot coke under the lower coke level h of the prechamber 2, whereby the quantity of steam to be recovered in the boiler 10 can be increased.</p> |
