PURPOSE:To improve the accuracy of sealing mercury in a lamp, while preventing leakage of mercury from a tank and improving ventilation by covering the surface of separation mercury with a phosphor followed by further making it to drop and positioning a plunger for dripping upward. CONSTITUTION:After evacuating the inside of a glass tube 1, a mercury dripping shaft 8 is lowered while simultaneously a certain amount of mercury 14, which has been stopped to drop by the shaft 8 and the inner edge of a mercury tank 9, falls into the tube 1 through a mercury dripping shaft. After finishing said fall, the shaft 8 is positioned upward while being pushed up by a coil spring 7. By said pushing-up process, a part of the shaft 8 dips up a certain amount of mercury 14 from the stored mercury 14 while simultaneously the surface of the mercury 14 is covered by a phosphor 11 floating on the surface of the stored mercury 10. Said mercury 14 enters a valley made by the shaft 8 and the inner edge of the mercury tank 9 due to the going-up of the shaft. |
