A safety valve 1 for a fluid, which comprises an inlet I and an outlet U for the fluid in question, and a passage 63 running between the inlet I and the outlet U. A control valve 2, communicating with the inlet I, for a pressurized flow, which is formed by a movable piston 6 and a spring force-actuable piston valve 8 which is adapted so as to interact with a passage 9 running through said control piston 6 and is actuated by a spring force which is smaller than the pressure drop arising between the inlet I and the outlet U, is adapted so as to be acted on by the pressure difference concerned between the inlet side I and the outlet side U in said control valve 2, whereby the fluid flow brings about a pressure drop between the inlet I and the outlet U.
