PURPOSE:To make cutting work of good quality that does not cause melting due to influence of heat by providing a nozzle that spouts out a cooling fluid around the outer periphery of a supplementary gas nozzle. CONSTITUTION:A laser beam 5 is condensed by a lens 2 and forms a focus on the surface of a material 6 to be cut. At the same time, a supplementary gas is supplied from a supplementary gas supply port 7b and spouted onto the material 6 from a nozzle 4a. When air is supplied as a refrigerant fluid for cooling from a cooling gas supply port 7b, the air is blown against the material 6 from a nozzle 7a. When the material 6 is moved against a mirror face 1, cutting is made along the locus of moving. At this time, the material 6 is colled by air blown from the nozzle 7a and temperature rise is suppressed. Thus, deformation of the material 6 due to influence of heat is suppressed, and excessive melting at the cut part 6a is prevented. |
