PURPOSE:To aim at enhancing the efficiency of working, in a splicing device for severing and splicing an original film, by providing a t aping unit for press- application of a bisurface adhesive tape and for severing of the trailing end section of a first film, and a swing arm for pay-out of a second film. CONSTITUTION:Upon completion of wind-up of a first film 4 which is paid off from a first reel 3, upper and lower suction parts 5b, 5c in a lower suction box 5 are simultaneously operated to absorb the film 4 onto an absorbing surface 5a. Then, after moving a taping unit 21 from its stand-by position B to its operating position near to the above-mentioned box 5, a mobile bed 22 is moved widthwise of the film to aim at press-applying a bisurface adhesive tape onto the film 4 and severing the trailing end section 16 of the film. Then, a new second reel 7 is set on a reel stand, and a suction box 8 on a swing arm 10 is moved to a position near to the reel 7 to a position near to the above- mentioned box 5 to pay out a second film 9 to splice the same to the film 4. |
