PURPOSE:To measure simply, easily and rapidly an HC-compound in a particulate, by measuring the total HC quantity of exhaust gas including gaseous condition HC of 2-system gas line of a diesel engine and gasified position by heating and conducting a differential calculation. CONSTITUTION:Exhaust gas of a diesel engine 2 is subjected to series sampling in No.1 and NO.2 gas lines 4, 5 through diluting tunnel 1, sample gas cutlet tube 3. The gaseous condition HC in the exhaust gas is measured by a filter 6 and the No.1 measuring apparatus 7 of this line. On the other hand, the HC compound in a particulate contained in the exhaust gas after heating by a heater 8 is evaporated and gasified for measurement of the total HC quantity in the exhaust gas by a filter 9 and the No.2 measuring apparatus 10. Further, both measured values are differentially processed by a computer 11 and thus, the HC compound in the particulate is measured in a short length of time, as extracting gas etc. for simple and easy measurements is not necessary. |
