The invention relates to a method and an apparatus for the individual packing of sanitary articles, especially sanitary towels, panty liners, nappies and the like. The invention is essentially that the sanitary articles are accepted from the production machine in a transverse position, continuously folded at a constant speed and then introduced into a flexible tube of packaging material. This tube is then intermittently transversely sealed, after which it is divided up into individually packed sanitary articles, which are then fed to an overall packaging.
