The headtorch (headlamp) comprises a case 10 carrying a reflector 1 fixed to a band 11 to go round the head. The case 10 forms with the reflector 1 a rigid single-unit assembly containing the batteries and contact circuits for lighting a bulb 6, exclusive of any external conductor or other instrument carried by the band 11 on the sides of or behind the head of the wearer. The battery holder part of the case 10 is in the shape of a triangular prism of which one face is turned towards the forehead of the wearer and another parallel to the axis of the reflector 1, which is thus permanently oriented at approximately 60 DEG from the surface of the forehead. This compact and light device avoids the need for balancing masses to be arranged around the head. The headtorch (headlamp), which finds a use in caving, mountaineering, sailing etc., is very easy to manipulate even with mittens. <IMAGE> |
