PURPOSE:To detect abnormality quickly and to improve the working efficiency of a system by reading out the data of a fixed pattern in a contact area, comparing the data with previously stored writing data, and if both the values are different from each other, informing the difference to an operator through an upper device. CONSTITUTION:When an electric power is supplied to a magnetic disc device, previously prepared data are transmitted from an initial data storing circuit 10 to a comparator 13 and the initial data are written in an HDA 8 by a writing circuit 11 through a head driving circuit 7. The data in the HDA 8 are read out by a reading circuit 12 through the circuit 7. The read-out data are compared with the already transmitted data by the comparator 13, and if both data are different from each other, the difference is informed to a processor 1 through an error informing circuit 14, a control adaptor 5 and magnetic disc control device 3. The processor 1 outputs an message to a console 2 inform the error status of the magnetic disc device 4 to the operator. |
