The invention relates to a device making it possible to drive and to directly direct very hot air towards the outer surface of the windscreen of a motor vehicle in order to de-ice it. It essentially comprises a temperature exchanger 10 of concentric shape mounted inside the main exhaust pipe for the gases 4. At the inlet to this exchanger, a fan 12 pushes ambient air which is highly heated at the outlet by the exhaust gases. The very hot air will be directed upwards directly onto the outside of the windscreen by means of a distribution line 11 connected at the outlet of the exchanger. <IMAGE>
