PURPOSE:To improve the quality of printing of dot printing by executing high- speed printing processing by a high-speed printing processing algorithm by selecting algorithm select means on the basis of a printing character code and a vertical writing/lateral writing discriminating signal. CONSTITUTION:Printing data containing a Chinese character code, etc. are transmitted over an interface 10, and printing data are transferred to a Chinese- character reading section 11. In the Chinese-character reading section 11, a Chinese-character dot pattern P corresponding to a printing Chinese-character code C for printing data is read from a Chinese-character generator 12, and made to contain in a reading buffer 13 on a high-speed printing mode. The Chinese-character reading section 11 outputs the printing Chinese-character code C, a vertical writing/lateral writing discriminating signal J and a high-speed printing mode signal H to an algorithm selecting section 15. A selected speeding- up processing section 16 or speeding-up processing section 17 executes high-speed printing processing to the Chinese-character dot pattern P of the reading buffer 13 on the basis of the printing Chinese-character code C and the vertical writing/ lateral writing discriminating signal J in the algorithm selecting section 15. |
