摘要 PURPOSE:To perform continuous and automatic adjustment and inspection for reference sensitivity calibration, distance amplitude characteristic correction and the like in a short time, by making a probe head scan reciprocally on a comparison test piece composed of more than one kind of thick pieces. CONSTITUTION:A probe head 3 scans in contact on a comparison test piece 1 with an artificial flaw 2 at the part t0 thereof which is composed of three kinds of thick pieces, one with the thickness t0 the highest in the sensitivity and the others with the thicknesses t1 and t2 before and after the value. In the outgoing course, probes on the head 3 are adjusted to the reference sensitivity at the part of the thickness t0 and the distance amplitude characteristic on the thin and thick sides is corrected at the part of the thickness t1 and t2. Then, in the incoming course, the inspection of the noise level at the part of the thickness t2 and the automatic monitor gate adjusting function at the part of the thickness t1 is done to check the detection of a defect due to the artificial flaw 2 at the part of the thickness t0. This enables the adjustment and confirmation of functions thereby elevating the reliability.
