The present invention relates to a device for winding in and paying out a fishing line. It comprises a rigid element 1 sandwiched between two thicknesses of cork 4 and extended by a handle 3. The operational shape of the assembly has been particularly designed to ensure easy movements for unwinding and winding the line 7. For this purpose the shape chosen was that of a truncated pyramid with parallel bases, with slightly rounded edges 2 or even that of a truncated cone with elliptical or parabolic conical sections. Of great simplicity and of low cost price, this accessory has been designed to make the handling of fishing lines very easy. <IMAGE>
