The measurement is carried out by means of X-ray fluorescent analysis, the powder sample being irradiated by primary and target radiation and the transmitting radiation and X-ray fluorescent radiation being received by a detector. The object of the invention is to provide a quick-acting and simple device for X-ray fluorescent analysis of heavy elements, in particular lead in, e.g., PbS powder concentrates with concentrations of between 67 and 80% Pb from lead/zinc flotation. The solution is characterised in that the powder sample is arranged at a distance from the primary radiation source and detector, in that the primary radiation source is constructed as a ring and/or disc, and in that the primary radiation and the target radiation completely cover the powder sample.
