PURPOSE:To realize the optical recording system which records and reproduces digital information with high density and high reliability by recording bits ''1'' of a recording bit sequance on a recording medium as a unit recording part separated mutually by an unrecorded part or unrecorded part separated by a recording part. CONSTITUTION:A reproduced data bit sequence A is inputted from an information processor to an encoder 1, which converts the sequence A into a sequence B which contains (d) (integer larger than 1) - (k) [integer larger than (d)] bits ''0'' between successive bits ''1''. This sequence B is inputted to a recording pulse generator 2, which generates a recording pulse (a) wih specific width for every bit ''1'' to generate a recording pulse sequence C. Then, the sequence C is sent out to an optical recording head 3, which responds to a pulse (a) in the sequence C to irradiate a recording medium 4 with recording light, thereby forming a sequence D of unit recording parts (b) on the medium 4. Then, the sequence D is reproduced to obtain a reproduced pulse sequence E and each peak point (d) of this sequence E corresponds to a bit ''1'' in the sequence B. Thus, peak detection and clock reproduction are performed to reproduced the original data bit sequence A. |
