摘要 PURPOSE:To remove the thermal strain developed in the desired portion of a large-sized structure by a method wherein a large number of metal block groups, which act as heat sinks, are joined to the effective portions on the surface of the structure so as to once absorb heat therein and the respective metal blocks are connected with one another by means of a heat pipe main body. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of metal blocks with favorable thermal conductivity 1-1-1-6 compose a heat pipe unit by slidably assembled onto a heat pipe 2. The metal block is equipped with a means to closely join a mating surface 101 to a body to be installed 13 with low thermal resistance such as thermal conductive grease. After the number of heat pipe units installed, the installation locations of the units, the number, kind and configuration of metal blocks and the like are determined, heat pipe units are arranged under the condition that the metal blocks are held in slidable state and, after that, installed temporarily. While the temperature distribution of a body to be installed and the state of thermal strain at the predetermined portion being measured, the metal blocks are slided so as to correct the locations of metal blocks. When the correction of the locations of the metal blocks is finished, the heat pipe units are perfectly fastened to the place.
