PURPOSE: A method for manufacturing a cobalt-based catalyst is provided to improve the long-term driving stability and the activity of the catalyst by securing the optimal co-precipitation condition of respective active metal. CONSTITUTION: A method for manufacturing a cobalt-based catalyst includes the following: a cobalt precursor solution is mixed with colloidal silica; an aqueous nitric acid is added into the mixture, and the pH value of the mixture is adjusted to obtain first sol; the first sol is stirred at a temperature between 60 and 150 degrees Celsius; a noble metal precursor solution and an auxiliary metal precursor solution are mixed with the reacted solution; aqueous nitric acid is added into the mixed solution to obtain second sol; the second sol is stirred at a temperature between 60 and 150 degrees Celsius; and the reacted solution is dried and fired to obtain a cobalt-based catalyst. The noble metal precursor solution is based on Pt, Pd, Rh, Ir, or Ru. The auxiliary metal precursor solution is based on Zr or La. |
