PURPOSE:To improve the plastic workability of a two-phase stainless steel contg. Fe, Cr and Ni as principal components and having ferrite and austenite phases at a temp. close to ordinary temp. by hot working the steel at a prescribed temp. CONSTITUTION:A two-phase stainless steel contg. Fe, Cr and Ni as principal components and having ferrite and austenite phases at a temp. close to ordinary temp. is refined. The steel is heated to (the single ferrite phase forming temp. -200 deg.C) - (a temp. below the single ferrite phase forming temp.), forced to be cooled to <=500 deg.C, reheated to 850 deg.C - (the single ferrite phase forming temp. -200 deg.C), and deformed at 1X10<4>/sec-5X10/sec rate of strain. |
