Peristaltic pump 1 for moving blood along a tube 2 of elastic and deformable material, essentially comprising a rotor 3 carrying rollers 13 and means 14 of guiding the tube, an element 4 forming a vessel which receives the rotor 3 and which has means 5, 6 of placing the opposite ends 7, 8 of the tube 2, and a cover 10 capable of masking the rotor 3 from the outside. The pump 1 also comprises removable means 27 for placing the tube, which, at the end 7 where the blood enters the tube 2, exert a thrust which introduces a section 30 of the tube 2 into the area of action 31 of the means 14 of guiding the tube, which, during the rotation of the rotor, place the tube 2 between the rollers 13 of the rotor 3 itself and a corresponding opposing cylindrical surface of the element 4 forming a vessel. Use of such a pump in any extracorporeal blood circuit especially for haemodialysis, ultrafiltration, blood oxygenation and plasmapheresis. <IMAGE>
