PURPOSE:To manufacture high strength cold-bound briquette not causing reduction powdering and swelling by blending iron oxide-base starting materials with a proper amount of reduced iron powder, mill scale powder, iron sand, etc. and forming cold-bound pellets or briquettes. CONSTITUTION:When cold-bound briquette such as cold-bound pellets or briquettes is manufactured by utilizing iron oxide-base starting materials such as a minum sieve of fired pellets and fine iron ore, the starting materials are blended with 5-30% reduced iron powder, metallic iron, FeO-rich mill scale powder, iron sand, etc. Cold-bound briquette having improved strength during reduction and not causing swelling and reduction powdering is obtd.
