PURPOSE:To bond tiles strongly to a cement substrate, by forming projections on the surface of the cement substrate and recessions on the back of the tiles and applying a binder mortar so that it may catch hold of the projections and cut into the recessions. CONSTITUTION:A binder mortar is applied to the surface of a cement substrate 2 having a number of dovetail projections of about 2mm. in height in such a way that the projections 1 may cut into the mortar 5, while a binder morter 6 is applied to the back of tile 4 having dovetail groove-shaped recessions 3 so that the mortar 6 may be forced into the recessions 3. Then the mortars 5, 6 are put together for bonding of the tiles 4 to the cement substrate 2.
