PURPOSE:A cleaning base composed of activated alumina, exhibiting high cleaning effect irrespective of low abrasion power, and suitable as the abrasive for the composition for oral cavity application, e.g. dentifrice, prophylaxis paste, etc., kitchen detergent such as cleanser, and cleaner for window glass, mirror, etc. CONSTITUTION:The objective cleaning base is composed of activated alumina, preferably activated alumina having a specific surface area of 100-400m<2>/g, especially 150-300m<2>/g, and an average particle diameter of 0.5-15mu, especially 1-10mu. The average particle diameter of the activated alumina is preferably within the above range, and more preferably the content of the particle of >=44mu in diameter is <=0.1% and that of >=30mu in diameter is <=5%. The scratch can be surely decreased by the use of activated alumina having the above particle size distribution. |
