PURPOSE:To prevent saturation of a magnetic head even when the half body of its I-shaped core is shaved off and to improve the reproducing efficiency of the head, by forming ''Sendust'' or amorphous having a highly saturated magnetic flux density to a thickness of >=2mum on the gap surface of the I-shaped core. CONSTITUTION:A C-shaped core 3 and I-shaped core 4 are formed of an oxide ferrite and ''Sendust'' or amorphous of a metallic magnetic material having a saturated magnetic flux density which is double of that of the ferrite is formed to a thickness of >=2mum at the gap forming surface of the I-shaped core 4 by high-frequency sputtering. Therefore, even when the half body of the core is shaved off and a gap interval is increased, drop in the recording efficiency and head saturation can be prevented and the reproducing efficiency can be improved, since the ''Sendust'' or amorphous exists near the gap. |
