PURPOSE:To detect a wrong insertion state of a cassette by detecting the backward movement of a projection abutting on a side wall of the cassette unless the cassette is inserted normally when the lid is opened by pressing the lid lock member of the cassette with the projection which is pressed by a spring. CONSTITUTION:When the cassette 10 is driven as shown by an arrow A to abuts on a stopper 30, a pressure pin enters an insertion hole 22 and a latch 16 is moved back against the energizing force of a spring 18 and unlocked from the internal step part 20A of the side wall 20 to open the lid 14. When the cassette 10 is not inserted normally, the pressure pin is pressed against the side wall of the cassette 10 and pressed in a moving base 32 against the energizing force of a spring 54. Consequently, an operating pin 58 moves the arm 64 of a limit switch 62, which operates to detect the cassette 10 not being inserted normally.
