PURPOSE:Moist steam of low temperature is fed to the first steamer and dry steam of high temperature is fed to the second steamer to stop highly the action of the oxidases in raw tea leaves to give the product with high sweetness and good flavor. CONSTITUTION:Saturated steam of about 95 deg.C at normal pressure is fed to the first steamer 8, while dry steam of 105 deg.C is fed to the second steamer 8' and the shaft 16 and the mesh drum 10 are allowed to rotate in the opposite direction to each other, as raw leaves are fed from the inlet 6. The tea leaves fed flow down from the drum 7, through steamers 8, 8' to the mesh drum 10, freely in accordance with the inclination.
