PURPOSE:To enable the correspondence to the state of an indented surface of the bottom of an actual vessel, by using a test piece given a surface roughness corresponding to the surface of the bottom of the vessel by a spray material or an indented pattern form material so as to measure a frictional resistance which is used as a reference for calculating the frictional resistance of the surface of the bottom of the vessel in the water. CONSTITUTION:A test piece is formed by a method wherein a surface roughness corresponding to that of the surface of the bottom of a vessel is given to the surface of a base material for measuring a frictional resistance by a spray material containing a binder and aggregate, or an indented pattern form material formed on a roller pattern coat material. This idented pattern form material is formed as a surface layer on the surface of the base material by processes of coating, drying, etc., and by using the test piece formed in this way, the frictional resistance in the water is measured. By measuring the frictional resistance beforehand with respect to a number of test piece corresponding to various supposed roughness forms and by keeping measured values in storage as data, the frictional resistance can be calculated thereafter only by invertigating the roughness form of an actual vessel and collating the result with the data. |
