PURPOSE:To form an acid-doped electroconductive organic polymer suitable for use in the production of electronic parts, etc., by polymerizing aniline (or its water-soluble salt) in a reaction medium containing a protonic acid. CONSTITUTION:An aqueous oxidizing agent solution acidified with a protonic acid is added dropwise to an organic solvent solution of aniline or an aqueous solution of a water-soluble salt of aniline to effect a reaction with stirring. After the polymer is precipitated, it is aged for a suitable time by agitation and poured into a large amount of water. The obtained solid matter is filtered, washed and dried to obtain an electroconductive organic polymer [electric conductivity >=10<6>S/cm, inherent viscosity (in a 0.5g/dl conc. sulfuric acid solution) >=0.1].
