PURPOSE:To enable to record images with high quality and high resolution, by controlling the adsorption and desorption of a gas from a chelated metallic compound through impressing an active energy signal. CONSTITUTION:A monomolecular film or a film of stacked monomolecular layers of a chelated metallic compound is provided on a base to obtain a recording medium. An active energy signal is impressed on the recording medium to control the adsorption and desorption of a gas from the compound, thereby recording an image. Accordingly, since a recording layer of the recording medium is constituted solely of the chelated metallic compound in which images are to be recorded, images free of fogging or noises can be recorded with an extremely high sensitivity. |
