PURPOSE:To obtain the hub of a tape reel which superior chemical resistance and size precision and good surface roughness at low manufacture cost by using a thermosetting resin molding which has a tape slide surface with roughness below a specific value. CONSTITUTION:The hub of the tape reel is formed on the thermosetting resin molding whose tape slide surface 2 has <=2mu roughness. For example, a novolak type phenol resin molding is usable as the thermosetting resin molding. This novolak type phenol resin molding is obtained by mixing hexamethylene tetramine and glass powder with novolak phenol resin with an about 90 deg. fusion point and wood flour, a filler such as calcium carbonate, and zinc stearate are added when necessary. Consequently, a tape is prevented from damaging and the manufacture cost is reduced; and the chemical resistance and size precision are improved and the weight is reduced.
