PURPOSE:To save the wastage of the ink part of transfer paper on which transfer is not carried out, by a method wherein ink of plural color is pressed onto the paper to be transferred by allowing respectively individually wound transfer paper selectively to correspond to one thermal head. CONSTITUTION:When transfer is carried out onto the paper 4 to be transferred on a platen 1, the platen 1 and a thermal head 3 are moved at first to a position corresponding to the transfer paper of the first Y color and transfer is carried out by pressing the thermal head 3. In that case, when printing signal is not supplied to the thermal head 3 on the midway of transfer process, the head 3 is seceded from the platen 1 side and only the platen 1 is rotated by a fixed angle. The paper to be transferred is moved to the next transfer line and at that time, the transfer paper 9 is so controlled as not to be wound with the winding side roller 8. Hereinafter, the transfer paper 10 of M color, the transfer paper 1 of C color and the transfer paper of Y coupler, all necessary numbers of color are successively transferred in the same way and the transfer recording of required color is carried out. |
