A device for cutting horse hooves is designed with a guide edge limiting the cut upwards, in other words towards the growth zone of the hoof, along which edge even the layperson can cut the hoof without risk. The guide device supporting the guide edge can be fastened to the outer surface of the hoof at the desired height, advantageously by sticking.
