PURPOSE:To elevate the heat radiation performance while compactizing the equipment by making a ceramic substrate constituting a main section of the thermal head in the form of a sheet arranged vertically. CONSTITUTION:A thermal has a ceramics 4 arranged vertically in the form of a sheet and a resistor 5 is provided at the height-wise upper end thereof. A driving IC section 6 and a lead section 7 are provided on the width-wise side thereof while a heat conductive sheet 8 is provided on both width-wise sides of the ceramics 4 and radiation fins are arranged covering the sheet. In the thermal head thus arranged, dimensions thereof are noticeably small along the route of conveying a paper to enable the compactization of the equipment. Effective heat radiation is possible by providing the radiation fins on both sides of a plateshaped ceramics. |
