PURPOSE:To obtain a sensor for measuring oxygen concn. in a molten ironcarbon steel coating a solid electrolyte surface with a carbonous material and a mixture composed of composite oxide of Al2O3 and one kind selected from fluorides of Al, Ca and Mg. CONSTITUTION:The surface of an oxygen sensor constituted of a solid electrolyte consisting of partially stabilized zironia type oxide is (1): is coated with a carbonous material (for example, graphite powder, coke powder, pitch, etc.) and a mixture composed of composite oxide of aluminium oxide and at least one kind selected from fluoride of aluminum, calcium or magnesium or (2): is first coated with the carbonous material and is then coated with the mixture composed of the composite oxide of aluminum oxide and one kind selected from the fluoride of aluminum, calcium or magnesium on the coating layer or is coated with the mixture composed of the carbonous material, the composite oxide or aluminum oxide and at least one kind selected from the fluoride of aluminum, calcium or magnesium, by which the sensor is constituted. |
