NEW MATERIAL:An antibiotic B-1625A-410 or a salt thereof having the following physico-chemical properties; Appearance; Yellowish green fluorescent powder. Melting point; 220+ or -5 deg.C (decomposition point). Elementary analysis (%); C, 51.4+ or - 2.0; H, 6.5+ or -0.5; N, 7.7+ or -1.0. Solubility; Soluble in methanol, acetone, chloroform, ethyl acetate and 1% aqueous sodium bicarbonate and insoluble in water, diethyl ether and hexane. USE:An antimicrobial agent for Gram-positive bacteria. PREPARATION:Streptomyces antibiotics No.B-1625 strain (FERM-P No.7445) is cultivated preferably in a culture medium at about neutral pH and 20-37 deg.C for 30- 140hr. |
