PURPOSE:To detect a tilt angle securely by converting transmitted light into an analog or digital value with a rotary disk positioned between a light emitting element and a photodetecting element which are fixed to a container, and detecting the tilt angle from variation in the quantity of light incident on the element. CONSTITUTION:The light emitting element 1 and photodetecting element 2 are arranged in the enclosure 7 forming the container. A flat 6 and weight 5 are arranged on the rotary disk 3 which is supported in the enclosure 7 rotatably around a shaft 4 so that part of it moves between the light emitting element 1 and photodetecting element 2, and attitude control is performed so that the flat and weight are on a perpendicular line. This rotary disk 3 converts light from the light emitting element 1 into a digital or analog value corresponding to the tilt angle and sends its output to the photodetecting element 2.
