PURPOSE:The titled substitute milk, containing specific bacteria Bacillus.licheniformis as an effective microorganism, and having improved diarrhea preventing and inhibiting effect, body weight increase effect, feed efficiency improving effect, etc. and high safety. CONSTITUTION:A variant species Bacillus.licheniformis MN-001 strain (FERM-P No.226 MN-001) which is a facultative anaerobic bacterium is cultivated in a culture medium consisting of molasses, yeast extract, an ammonium salt, potassium phosphate, etc. at 20-50 deg.C for 12hr-5 days to give a culture, which is directly used or repeatedly washed to afford only bacterial cells. The resultant bacterial cells are freeze dried or spray dried into a pharmaceutical, which is then mixed in a commercial substitute milk to give 10<2>-10<15> bacterial cells/kg substitute milk and afford the titled substitute milk.
