A chair assembly intended for use when taking X-ray pictures comprises a chair (1) and means for rotating and moving the chair relative to a carriage structure (2) in the directions of X- and Y- coordinates. Movement in the directions of these coordinates is effected by means of two guide frames (4; 6) provided with guide means (4a; 6a). A separate support frame (20) provided with castors (20b) is arranged on the seat parts (7, 8) of the chair to prevent the chair toppling or tipping. The castors (20b) of the support frame (20) are normally located at a small distance from the underlying support surface, so as not to impede rotational and coordinate movements of respective chair members. Chair movements are controlled by means of a stirrup-like control means having provided in the central portion thereof further control means (30, 31and 32) for activating the release of locking means locking the afore-mentioned chair components against rotary movement and movement in the direction of the coordinates. |
