PURPOSE:To contrive to enhance the strength and toughness of the titled steel, by containing a predetermined ratio of Cr, Mo, Ni, V, Nb, N, C, Si, Mn, Al, Co, Ta, Ti and Zr. CONSTITUTION:The titled steel consists of, on a wt. basis, 7-10% Cr, 1.5-3% Mo, N<1%, 0.1-0.3% V, 0.02-0.1% Nb, 0.01-0.07% N, 0.1-0.2% C, Si<=0.1%, 0.05-1.5% Mn, Al<=0.02% and the remainder of Fe and, if necessary, additionally contains one or more of Co<=5%, Ta<=0.05%, Ti<=0.05%, B<=0.01% and Zr<=0.1%. This steel is excellent in strength at a high temp. and toughness under ambient temp.
