PURPOSE:To develop an alloy material having large magnetic resistance effect, in preparing the alloy material for Ni-Fe type magnetic resistance effect, by adding a specific amount of a rare earth element. CONSTITUTION:In preparing a Ni-Fe type alloy for magnetic resistance effect containing 5-25wt% of Fe, a rare earth metal of Sm, Pr or a Misch metal is added and contained in a range of 0.05-1%. By this method, the Ni-Fe type alloy excellent in magnetic resistance effect is obtained.
