The device for the application of paste-like pharmaceuticals or cosmetics, has a container (1) housing the paste-like substance to be applied, an open dispensing nozzle (6) and a manually operated ejection device (3) for ejection of the paste-like container contents. This device is additionally designed as a metering device in that the storage container (1) delimits a metering chamber (2) of predetermined volume and has a charging orifice located at that end of the storage container (1) which is opposite the dispensing nozzle (6). In the region between the charging orifice (5) and the dispensing nozzle (6) the storage container (1) is transparent at least over part of its circumference and is provided with a graduation (9). <IMAGE>
