PURPOSE:To obtain the economical widening construction for a floating dock by laterally dividing an existing dock into a plurality of dock units and longitudinally dividing each dock unit and increasing the width by inserting a pontoon deck block. CONSTITUTION:An existing dock is divided into each pontoon dock unit in the first process, and each dock unit is floated-up. An additional pontoon 8 is submerged in the second process, and the pontoon dock unit 1 is taken onto a pontoon deck. The pontoon deck is floated-up in the third process, and the pontoon dock unit 1 is vertically divided into two parts, and one part is laterally transferred by the increased-width portion. Further, an insert block 9 is inserted between the above-described cut parts and welded, and after the width is increased to form a ballast tank, the pontoon dock unit is floated-up onto the sea surface. In parallel with the above-described processes, each width-increased pontoon dock unit is successively connected longitudinally.
