<p>A test method and system are disclosed for verifying whether or not a sample purporting to be a given type of authenticating device for an item of sheet material is genuine. The verification is carried out by means of the colour filter characteristics of the sample in relation to those of a reference device. By means of a diffraction grating, the polychromatic light emitted by a light source is separated, and, after being reflected on some sample and reference receivers, falls on some comparator means, (fig. 2).</p> |
